Post Waiting for HER letter...
Hello My name is Michele and I am 41 years old. I had a baby girl named E. when I was 17 years old and placed her up for adoption through Bethany Christian Services. It was the hardest decision I ever have had to make in my entire life but I know it was the BEST decision for E. There has not been a day that has gone by that her sweet name or face comes to my mind or my lips. She is now 24 years old and I recently found her birth father. It was a strange reunion that began with a dream that would then lead me to meet him to share with him pictures and letters about her and then finally lead me to write her a letter and deliver it to Bethany on her 24th birthday. I waited for a call from Bethany and it came. They found her and come to find out she had been looking for me at the same time I had the dream. God's timing is always perfect and right. So my letter was delivered along with a birthday card for her and now I wait. I wait for my letter. I wait for something. I pray everyday before I open the mailbox for God to hear my prayer and answer yet another petition I have prayed to him in regards to my birth daughter. Not only did I find out she is alive, I found out she is happy and loved. The things I have prayed at every thought and every birthday I have celebrated since I left her in the hospital.
I am just curious if anyone else has had a similar experience of the waiting period. Some days it seems so hard. Not as hard as it was to walk away from her but a different kind of hard. I find myself praying for patience and mercy for my heart is breaking once again every time I open the mailbox and it is not there. I pray then for her instantly. I pray for comfort for her. I pray for peace and for and her well being as she is too dealing with the shock of me finding her, wondering now what do I do? I pray that she is not in fear or anxious but just enjoying her life and God preparing her heart and mind to write to me. Just to know she was looking for me makes my years of missing her seem a little less painful. It is a blessing just to know that. So for that Lord I thank you.
Thank you for taking the time to read my post.
Much Love,
Michele- A birth mom :D

Post Re: Waiting for HER letter...
OK well I still have not received my letter but my birth daughter did contact me thru Face Book on May 29, 2009. It was wonderful. We chatted on line for 3 1/2 hours and just got to know one another. We discussed things from hair color, eye color, favorite foods and even talked some of her story. Since then we have been emailing back and forth. It has been an emotional roller coaster to say the least but a ride I would never trade. So I once again wait for her to desire to meet me. I have no control over this. Please if you have a similar story or any encouragement please reply. If you have any questions of this process- I would be happy to share with you my experience.
Thanks and have a great day.
Michele

Post Re: Waiting for HER letter...
Hello it is nice to meet you Sherri. :D Yes things are well but slow. It is a very very emotional and slow process of reunification. I am just waiting for her now to contact me now that she has moved and is getting settled. The waiting is harder now that I have had contact with her than waiting the 24 years to find her. Strange and I really do not know how to explain it. But no matter what I am happy and thrilled that I found her and she did contact me thru facebook. If you would like to hear more of my birth story I would love to share it with you someday.

So I can see you had a boy in 2006. I love the name too by the way. How are you doing with the process of it all? Could share some of your story if you feel you are able.
I am here to help if I can.

Take care and Thank you for replying.
Michele

Nice to meet you too Michele :) One of the women on the general forum has described to me what it is like to wait to be reunited. Maybe you would like to chat with her? Her sn is Dianegr and she is on the General discussion board a lot. I can't imagine having to wait for that long only to wait some more :( You seem to be doing okay with it, at least from what I can tell!

Yes, I had a baby boy in 2006 and the adoptive parents named him. I didn't have any names in mind and asked them to tell me what they wanted so I could write it on the birth certificate. I'm doing pretty well at the moment but I go through cycles. His birthday was last week and I seemed to do pretty well with it this year.

I have no problems with sharing my story but I don't have time at the moment :) Would you like to read my blog? I wrote my story out in a post a couple years ago. My blog is HERE and the "my story" post is HERE. Keep in mind I wrote in when Cory was only 6-7 months old so my perspective is a bit different now ;)

I'll check this board more often! Talk to you soon!
